Why this work matters

Growing competence, confidence and understanding

Early childhood is a formative period in which children develop competences and shape their relationship with nature. This project aims to strengthen the position and quality of forest kindergartens within education systems.

Show its important role in children’s learning, development and relationship with the natural world.

2

Support teachers

Increase professional competence in enabling and managing risky play thoughtfully.

3

Build awareness

Raise public understanding of nature-based preschool education and forest kindergartens.

Planned reach

Learning that becomes practical support

The project will provide training and workshops for 156 teachers, while dissemination is expected to reach at least 2,000 people directly.

Expected results

  • A textbook, methodology and teacher competence profile
